Some FIFA links

In light of the arrests of numerous high-ranking FIFA officials earlier today, here are three links that provide some interesting background on the organization.

1) The Daily News’ investigative team did an in-depth report last November on Chuck Blazer, a very corrupt former FIFA official who, in effect, turned state’s evidence against it.

2) the terrific British soccer writer, David Goldblatt, put together a 30-minute segment in 2011 for the BBC on the organization’s development and growing power over the past few decades.

3) And, of course, there’s John Oliver’s classic segment from last summer, just before the start of the 2014 World Cup.
